Now that we know the full suite of options, what characters will you make for your first playthroughs?
I’m going to start with several campaigns simultaneously.
Ash: a simple human open hand monk. This dude just wants to chill alone in his hermitage, train, and write bad poetry he’s too embarrassed to share with anybody. I don’t do evil playthroughs, so this is the file where I use all the evil characters. Ash just wants everybody to get along so they can solve their tadpole issue and he can get back to his routine, but he doesn’t trust leaving the most psychotic members of the group unsupervised at camp. Thus, he drags them out with him so he can keep an eye on them while he handles business.
Daemophon: the exact opposite of Ash. Ash is all about quiet, unpretentious minimalism. Daemophon will be as over the top as possible. A half Drow draconic sorcerer / Archfey warlock directly descended from a blue dragon and the chosen champion of Titania. He is going to be an atrociously min-maxed coffeelock and oh so extra. While he is mostly going to do good actions, it’s only out of convenience, not altruism. He does not give a fuck. He will travel with Minsc, Jaheira and Karlach but there will be an unspoken understanding that they are not his friends. They are not his peers. They are his honor guard.
Pyotyr Vashka: I’m planning a once a week multiplayer game with some people I play tabletop with and it’s going to be heavy on roleplay. My character will be a fast talking, roguish warlock with an outrageous, borderline offense, Russian accent. I’m going to be using a build I made for a solo run of EA that is all about being really good at running away from combat. I’ve told my party members I won’t go out of my way to leave them high and dry, but Pyotyr will always have an escape route and will never be in as much peril as they are.
Finally: one run with the full custom party I’ve been enjoying the most in EA.
Half-elf Druid (but now Circle of Spores)
Human Fighter (Eldritch Knight)
Dwarf Rogue (Arcane Trickster)
Tiefling Barbarian (Wildheart) (gonna kill Karlach and take her outfit)
