For some reason I assumed that tadpoles will be narrative device unique to origins. Still seems that our companions will be tadpoled as well. Now, that is true of Minthara and Minsc it seems. I wonder if Jaheira and Helsin will suffer the same fate. I was hoping that without need for forced motivation when playable as origin, companions will have more to them than "I got tadpoled, need to do something about it".

Minthara is tadpoled already in EA, and from Game Awards trailer it seems Minsc has been captured by the cult of the Absolute so he could get tadpoled there. Now, with Halsin getting captured as well, it wouldn't be unthinkable he could get his own tadpole as well, however, at least in EA, it doesn't seem anyone in the goblin camp is aware of the parasites, therefore making it unlikely that they would be able to plant one in the bear. It is not impossible for Halsin to not be companion immediately, and perhaps events at the end of act1 will lead to our companions getting tadpoled and them joining our crusade.
actully minthara is not tadpoled in EA. no tadpole appear after killing her while other true soul always drop theirs. and you can't target her with warlock tadpole power.
