I only heard of GFN for the first time ever yesterday. I've been perfectly happy with my perfectly average setup, perfectly happy with more-or-less medium everything graphics, with some high-for-this-at-the-exchange-of-low-for-that exceptions. Finance-wise, a slicker setup was never going to be in the cards. But holy crap, y'all, GFN is a freaking game-changer!

Today I got an ultra account, or whatever they call it, and I started a new playthrough in all its full, as-intended beauty, and it's breathtaking. Three or four grand (maybe more these days?) to level my stuff up, if I had that kind of cash I'd take a freaking vacation. But $16 a month (buying ultra at twice-a-year $99 increments)? Blown away.

Bandwidth-wise, when I'm the only one here, I can't tell the difference between playing normally, and with a kid here binging youtube, occasional bandwidth issues, but short enough and far enough between that I'm more than happy to accept them in exchange for the graphics kick in the ass.

I'm kinda worried I'm gushing so much that this comes across as an ad and is out of line, so I'm hiding most of the gushing behind goblins, but there have been a number of threads with people asking about minimum requirements, etc., and I just wanted to say that if that's your main concern, there's a more affordable than buying new hardware option that's pretty dope if you aren't competing with your network-mates too much for bandwidth.

And also, after two years of playing this game at mid-level graphics settings, seeing it as it's meant to be seen is... a revelation.
