There is no +1 or +2 bonus to enemy AC, attack roll, saving throws revealed.
I always considered stat padding to be lame. If they can increase difficulty through AI and enemy composition without messing up core rules, that is way, wayyyy more interesting way of doing it.
Larian's supposed "brutal" AI was also implemented in DOS2. I don't trust broadcast hardcore AI to actually play worth a damn that they're a legitimate threat.
Sure, but different enemy composition is more compelling to me that padding enemy stats. Of course, I wouldn’t mind more granular difficulty setting where stat padding would be one of the options, but if we get 3 pre sets, that I would rather have Larian explore other avenues.
I didn’t dive into D:OS2 that much, but BG3 will need a major balance pass and reworking of some mechanics to be able to even attempt having difficult challenges. Based on EA, that would be my biggest worry, rather than how difficulty itself is handled.
