So, now that I'm registered on this forum, I guess I should open a thread.

So, after Larian disclosed the game modes it kinda surprised me that there wasn't a lone wolf mode implemented. Now, before everyone jumps at my throat because lone wolf is DOS and not D&D, for D&D some people uses the Gestalt house rule that can be used to accomplish this.

What's the gestalt rule? It's just having PC taking two classes at each level. Easy as that. In this way you can be a cleric 6 / monk 6 elf by sixth level, for example. This is used when the party is particularly small (like only two people) and I feel like it can work pretty well on BG3.

Would you like it? Do you think Larian will ever introduce it?

Honestly, that sounds like a nightmare. You'd have to lock the PC out of taking party members, which means dialog needed for when companions encountered, etc

And it definitely would not reflect most people's table top experience

I think I phrased that more directly than I should have, so imagine I said the above with friendly smile while we're having drinks or something, not as a forum dweller trying to scream down your idea

Honestly it didn't sound harsh in any way or manner, easy on that!

I didn't think about the discussions implications, that's fair, but I think many people are interested into it. I mean, at some point DOS were a "couple game" like "It takes two" because of the lone wolves feats, while for others it's an interest challenge or just alternative mode. Surely not something you go for on your first rodeo.

Hm, I can see why people would want this. I am sure someone could make it into a mod. Or do you want it in the main game in particular?

As a console player, sadly mods don't exists to me.
And as a DOS player, something I'm used to have I guess.

Larian made a reference to lone wolf mode...but (to my knowledge) has not made any guarantees about implementing one.
Yep, mods can accomplish a version of lone wolf (if you can use mods) ...maybe the panel from hell will reveal more details?
