I was thinking Crane might be the Master when I though he was the employer of Fel (his butler) and the white Dragonborn. Now that I know he’s in charge of the Guild I’m not sure, it’s hard never having met him.

The MO seems to involve using existing or incited grievances to cover ritualistic murders as crimes of passion. The gambler owed Grom money, the butcher was upset by the meat supplier, who was sleeping with the guard's wife. We're missing a link between the bard and the rest as far as I can tell. And so with Grom who should’ve been murdered by now I guess. Maybe we saved her? I forget the murdered Dragonborn got in an argument with someone at the harbormaster, maybe that argument was with the bard or the sailor. I’ve got nothing on the false beard
