Well, this looks like it. Finishing just in time for the last panel from Hell.
I feel like maybe Grom is being literal and is a member of a demon cult that Fel leads. Certainly seems like a useful member to dispose of bodies that you don't want found (vs those you leave as a display). I feel like chasing a super strong cult leader with magical powers into its lair that it clearly wants us to go seems like it will end with us being bashed over the head and sacrificed to a demon lord. Home seems like being arrested and hung for murder. Riverveins probably does lead the the lair (presumably one of the entrances for ease of navigating the city and given how much activity has happened nearby) and would be safer than charging on in via the underground passageway. I went with getting help from the thieves guild though, I can't imagine they are super happy about having murderous demon cultists on their turf and they probably know the underground spaces better than anyone. I would imagine there is another enterance from the thieves guild HQ as well and would be an even less expected direction for us to chase from.

I considered that too, but there was a whiff of magic in the air when "Magpie" gave us the letter that hasn't been present elsewhere, though maybe we were just never close enough.

The animal on Fel's hat was described as aquatic and with feathered wings, does that mean anything to someone?

I did think about these being Bhaal cultists as it appears it is only 5 years (1482) till the last Bhaalspawn die and Bhaal is resurrected. Then the victims are either Bhaalspawn or murders to power a ritual and then that ties into the first 2 games. But the murdered dragonborn is almost certainly not a Bhaalspawn and there would likely be few left if the last 2 die in 5 years so I don't think this is the plot line but certainly can't rule out Bhaal cultists.

Anyone else have issues going back to previous days? Not all the locations are highlighted anymore. I wanted to catch up on what I missed.

There were cultists in the first act of Descent into Avernus. I think of the dead three. So maybe this is their beginning

I know! A number of the old locations have now been disabled, which caught me out too. I wish they'd left them there with the previous days' text. I'm not sure what harm that would have done.

I think people were getting confused about where to go because the map was getting cluttered.

That said, I imagine the "in game" reason is because we can't show our head anywhere while we're wanted by those who serve the Flaming Fist.

I know! I'm a coward. And a ditherer.

Gah! I'm overthinking this thing about Drusilla encouraging us to go back home when it's likely to be overrun by Flaming Fist soldiers. Is that the left-field correct solution that will reveal the Master settling in and having a cup of tea pretending to be us? Or should we forget about being the hero ... because we're actually the villain, so our home is where the villain lives and where we can rip off the Master's mask and find our own face? Okay, maybe that's The Prisoner. But in what way have we been strung along, and when Drusilla says the sorceror has been using petty squabbles to hide their tracks, does that mean that some of the murders weren't part of the same case, though now we seem to have at least some plausible connection between a white dragonborn sorceror and each of the four murders.

Why the hell did the elf have a false beard? What would that blasted puking man have told us?

Could Crane be the Master? I wish I could look back at the Sorcerous Sundries text to see exactly what the proprietor said, and check who told .

I'm going to sleep on this one again, and hope for illuminating dreams smile.

I was thinking Crane might be the Master when I though he was the employer of Fel (his butler) and the white Dragonborn. Now that I know he’s in charge of the Guild I’m not sure, it’s hard never having met him.

The MO seems to involve using existing or incited grievances to cover ritualistic murders as crimes of passion. The gambler owed Grom money, the butcher was upset by the meat supplier, who was sleeping with the guard's wife. We're missing a link between the bard and the rest as far as I can tell. And so with Grom who should’ve been murdered by now I guess. Maybe we saved her? I forget the murdered Dragonborn got in an argument with someone at the harbormaster, maybe that argument was with the bard or the sailor. I’ve got nothing on the false beard

You should still be able to go back to previous days and see the locations there though. I think it’s a bug.

Bummer that we didn't make it over to the Harbormaster before this, I was hoping for a little more information on the dead elf sailor. The best theory I've heard thus far is that the dead elf was a Harper in disguise, perhaps investigating a cult led by a white dragonborn sorcerer helped by his top-hat buddy and the brawny gravedigger. I voted for looking up Crane in Sewer Keep since we definitely could use some help right now and charging into the cultists' lair strikes me as bad tactics.

I know so many missing pieces of information and yet we are in the final act.
I don't think Crane is part of the cult otherwise the kid probably would have delivered the note. And it seemed like the sorcerous sundaries assumed we stole the dagger for Crane and wanted to sell it. Why steal one if you are part of the cult?

In regard to the bard I suspect the beard disguise was unrelated to the cult. To meet a secret lover or skip town after being discovered or some other activity where there was a motive for someone other than the dragonborn to murder him.

I'd like to add, for the frame up to be theatrically complete, Tav has to be caught "in the act" trying to murder an upstanding citizen (who is of course the true murderer)

Only one hour left, and it's a draw between Sewer Keep and the Underground Passageway right now.
I must admit I am a bit nervous about what happens next.

Do you mean that you didn't creatre a massive Excel spreadsheet with the locations, dates, text, clues, characters and changing images?

I know that Drusilla is dead now but I'm still not discounting her or Cate as one of the murderers.
She still sounds like a hag to me (
if you kill auntie Ethel and then you go back to interrogate her body, she will tell you that she was ways to come back to life, and that does sound like what Drusilla / Cate are doing. This is looking more and more like a turf war.
)

I voted to go with Magpie because it looks as if someone was trying to frame the kid too.

So not only are we
dead
but also whipped with sarcasm.

"Finally, you meet his gaze, and in a sly tone he acknowledges,
"Impressive how far you've come, uncovering so much about our target."

I need to know more now; can we replay this thing on our own time to explore the other branches?

Pretty please?

I knew we were gonna die. I'm entirely certain that there was no version of this where our Tav survived. This was clearly a story where the detective died at the end. I'm sure detective Tav will get a mention in the game. Maybe we'll end up inhereting his home in Locklee street.

I hope we survived, and that this story is part of our background as custom character
Maybe tomorrow we will see this white dragonborn in action ?
Anyway, now I have two sworn enemies I want to smash
