Poor Wyll. I feel like he went out into the world and disappointed Larian. His brothers and sisters were so much more popular.
The feedback on Wyll must've been terrible.
I wonder how much is going to change? The quick glimpses I got during the panel made him seem a little more dainty to me, almost like a ballerina. But I probably didn't get a good look.

I think Larian only has themselves to blame. They focused so much on the other companions and then wondered why people didn't get attached to Wyll. If you're not paying too close attention, it's easy to miss him as well. Lae'zel, for better or worse, makes an immediate impression, you cannot ignore her. I hope they can fix Wyll, because it'd be a shame to have a lame duck companion in an already small cast.

For what it's worth, I thought his story seemed fairly compelling. The only thing I didn't like him were his stats. And his lack of ability with a blade.

Let captain failure grow some bollock!!
I liked Wyll by the way. He was a perfect and rare breed of a pretender, who could actually do some badass stuff, but still was a pretender all things considered. Can you think of any similar tropes from other games?

Honestly, I missed taking Wyll along because Warlock is one of my favorite classes, but two warlocks feels redundant. Took him along on my Paladin playthrough though. Liked him well enough. Better that most of the other companions, but that's a low bar for me.

I actually liked Wyll a lot already, though I fully agree he didn’t leave as strong an impression as the other characters.
I’m interested in seeing how he has changed.

He is actually my favorite origin character. Hope they don't mess him up.
I found his polite nature refreshing.

For some reason he has to kill Karlach now?

For some reason he has to kill Karlach now? A learned hate for devils and everything infernal, I guess. Wyll made an impression of being the youngest character, at least his temper was something of a recently matured person. I guess he is kinda short tempered on that account and could come to wrong conclusions with Karlach, especially if he hears Anders' lies first about killing villagers and stuff.

Wait what? Wyll has to kill Karlach? So the two 'good' companions have a beef? Come on lol

They were saying Wyll has to kill Karlach as a starting goal.
But Wyll could decide to not kill Karlach. Meaning Wyll has a big fork in the path early on. Good Wyll or Bad Wyll, player's choice.
Or at least that's what I understood from watching the PFH. Maybe I misunderstood something; I don't know.

It could be on the orders of his patron, rather than anything personal against Karlach/infernals.
I wasn't terribly invested in Wyll so I'm curious to see where this rewrite goes.

I wasn't terribly invested in Wyll so I'm curious to see where this rewrite goes. They have what I think is a new write up for him on the official website now, unless I am misremembering. It is noted that his patron specifically is asking him to sacrifice devilish creatures and hunt her enemies. I imagine when accepting this deal Wyll said "Well whatever - I want to be a hero and kill evil stuff anyways" and she is going to start asking him to kill not so evil stuff (Karlach - as example).

Oooh. Interesting. More compelling (to me) than his previous arc, which was about... hating goblins? Vengeance? I don't quite remember.
