I am generally excited and satisfied with what I saw. Here is what I liked:
-Dark Urge being an origin for custom characters (and allowing you to resist).
-Karlach's characterization and romance. A gregarious dorky barbarian from the hells who wants to live a normal life seems fun.
-Difficulty modes, especially being able to change in-game, and AI buffs.
-Companions that are not origins. I know we already knew that, but it gives me hope for greater variability in companion characterization.
-Renting a room at elfsong or sleeping on the docks.
-An attempt at the trifecta of reactivity, permutations, and massive scope.
-DOS2 style class blending with the option to reset class growth to see what works and what doesn't. Bringing in the "mirror" from DOS2 is a great idea, and I am glad that the team thought of combining that with multiclassing to let us get really creative with builds and build combinations.
-General responsiveness to some player feedback. Not everything, but I feel that some of the biggest points of feedback were heard.

What I did NOT like:
-Bear sex. For people that are down with that, more power to you, but I hope the marketing and PR team at Larian have thought long and hard about how people (particularly bad faith actors) might react to that and what they might do.
-Lack of marketing. I had to be like, "I wonder where that Baldur's Gate game is going" to find out about the last panel from hell and the new release date. I don't know how many people know about this game.
