ALLEGEDLY hide is now a full action
When demonstrating the (heavy quotes) “Tactician” mode, a Larian dev with a gamepad cycles through the wheel of possible actions/bonus actions. If you pause while he’s scrolling past Hide, the explainer text says the cost is an action. Maybe that doesn’t apply to normal mode, because “Tactician” alledgedly wants to make every combat a puzzle, and Bonus Action Hide solves every problem.
Speaking of “Tactician” mode, let’s discuss the solution to that combat puzzle, as presented by the puzzle’s designer. 1. Figure out goblins are waiting in ambush, through good perception or shameless meta-gaming. 2. Slip round the back (with probably more meta-gaming to know where it’s safe to do so) 3. Exploit the combat time bubble. I’m floored. This is just a cheese battle.
So I guess we can add “hard yet fair difficulty setting” to the list of things we’ll never get.
