To add to what I said earlier for me, I felt like early access robbed me of the ability to experience games for the first time. The games that are most memorable leave a really strong first impression and it's one of those things where it's like how amazing would it be be able to experience it again for the first time. But early access is a much much lesser experience...by the time you actually get to play the full game it's just not the same thing anymore. So especially for a game as good as Baldur's Gate 3 I absolutely could not and would not under any circumstance allow myself to touch early access. I didn't even watch streams or playthroughs of the early access. I need to be able to experience the full and proper game for the first time without having touched early access.

This sums up my feelings much better than I did in my OP. I got DOS2 long after it was released and I really enjoyed it. I signed up for EA because I thought the idea was good and that Larian would produce a good product. I think I would enjoy have enjoyed BG3 more if I had just waited . Kind of similar to the old adage of "seeing how the sausage is made" lol.
