it's really good to know I'm not alone in feeling this way about Larian.
You are not.
My introduction to the existence of this game was several years ago when I came across an image of a githyanki female warrior and thought 'holy ravioli, I want some of this'. Then I learn it was Larian and, having given up on DOS2 long before the end, my little heart sank. So I got out my optimism from the box on top of the wardrobe, dusted it off and thought 'maybe they have grown up or the D&D rule-set and the lore and canon will keep them on the straight and narrow'. I played through the EA version a couple of times and thought 'Not too bad. Not a disaster but not great either'. After the two showcase vids a couple of weeks ago this was still roughly my position. Then came the PFH and it was a case of 'abandon all hope'.
I always intended to wait week or so before getting the full game to allow any hotfixes or patches to appear if such were required. I'm still going to do that but i don't feel any sense of urgency to get the full game after that.
I'm now pinning my hopes on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf even though it seems to be centring on one of my least favourite characters from DA:I.
