Hello,
Been enjoying divinity a while, but I really want to play a slow hammer swinger who can make death blows often. This was my first character. I never noticed any deathblows happening as I ranked hammer mastery up, but figured I was just missing them (since I killed alot of things in one blow anyway). Then at lv24 I added deathstrike 1 to my skills, and lo and behold the cool screen shaking deathblow effect (about 1 in 100 like it should be--1%). So I figured hammery mastery deathblow was broken. The recuperation bonus and damage bonus work on it I know for sure, but never seen a deathblow.
Dissapointed I quit my 24 character and played lots of others, but now wanted to go back to the deathblower. Using the save editor and know creature, I have been fooling around seeing if I could get a deathblow with hammer mastery.
Still no luck. Not only that, if you have hammer mastery it breaks the deathblow effect on weapons. Example, a deathblow 2 hammer works as 2% deathblow, but if you put points into hammer mastery it no longer deathblows at all instead of going up as it should!
So right now the WORST weapon for deathblows is a hammer. Other weapons you can get deathblow 4 or 5, death strike 4 or 5, and have close to a 10% chance for a deathblow. With hammer mastery only the death strike skill still works, leaving a max 5% chance (and mostly at end of game where everything has high spiritual resist).
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just me? Any fixes out there? Please help. Deathblows seem dumb with other weapons, but so fun with a big slow hammer THUD!
