What about the demonic alter ego being the opposite gender of the char? I as a female would have to cope with a male part - the male gamer would have to make friends with his demonic female side?
I don't know about the programming effort for this though - if it would be too large, creating different types of inner dialogues then. The male demonic part would cruel, aggressive, callous etc - the female one more the succubus type (luring, tempting, taunting)?

Both inner demons would have different stats advantages/disadvantages
succubus death knight: Higher charisma? More intelligence, lower con?
male demon death knight: strength? Higher con, lower int.?
And the avatar pic would be different then? Succubus/death knight portrait?
