I will be starting a multiplayer with Tav as main and Dark Urge as 'origin companion'. I will keep 2 spots probably for npcs.

I'm not sure how long I will stick to this playthrough. It will be depending how much Larian takes away control from us as Durge (see killing Gael, kicking squirrel,... to some degree its fine, but if I feel like its more about Larian forcing us down the murderhobbo path because they love it I might quit the playthrough or if possible just kick out the character). Also if origin NPCs keep being as annoying as in EA and I can't customize hirelings beyond class I might go with 3-4 customs.

I think I will refrain from the Dark Urge, at least until I get more info. Still plan on playing a Male Lolth Sworn Drow Wizard, specialising in Enchantment (make Gale a Storm Sorcerer so not to have 2 wizards in the party) and I will see what Paths I want to take in the month from the PC release to the PS5.

No, you won't, because that's not possible.
"Dark Urge" is available only for your starting character.

...Unless we are talking about the old trick of simulating a multiplayer game with two clients? That may work, actually.

I would prefer not to go that route, but I hope with the changes to multiplayer that are coming it will also give me the option to kick Durge out. I've tried in the current EA I couldn't find a way to get rid of an existing character - which with Durge could turn out to be a pain in the a...

I have no bloody idea. It will be a custom character, but beyond that, no clue. I usually play spellcasting types, like wizard or sorcerer, but with so many interesting options, it will be hard to decide.

It *probably* won't be a fighter, but I don't exclude other melee oriented classes. An idea of evil-aligned paladin (a black guard type) had crossed my mind once or twice. But that would probably be for a second playthrough and with the Dark Urge origin.

I was going to play a dwarf or gnome, but sadly there's no dwarf or gnome companions and I don't want to be surrounded by beardless bark sniffers and mayflies who'd get lost in a drift mine on my dwarven playthrough. So instead I'm seriously contemplating a black dragonborn dark urge oathbreaker and go ham on the evil side. Too bad I can't pick a deity unless I'm a cleric, might have to multiclass......

With the help of Xanathar's Guide to everything I'm gonna be playing a fleshed out version of my very first D&D character. A folk hero tiefling pact of the blde archfey warlock tiefling who goes by the name of Free. She wasn't born Free, but damn if she's not gonna die that way, as she likes to put it.

Barbarian half-orc, Drow or halfling Gloom Staker, Some type of Pact of the Blade warlock... Maybe Paladin Dragonborn, I considered a bard, too. I dunno.
Frankly the more I think about it the less confident I become.

The final choice will depend a lot on how I like the result in the character creator, probably.

I'm playing either Shadowheart (cleric rogue) or custom Tav. Definitely never Dark Urge.

Monk usually not viable for multiclassing— does anyone know if Monk will be more viable for multiclassing in the game for WIS or DEX based classes?

Ugluk - Kultured Half-Orc Shaman (War Domain) with Pointy Stick of DOOM (spear is Gruumsh's favoured weapon)
either of which might take 5 levls in Fighter (guess why :))
or
Lolliconeris - Sword Dancer Devotee of Elistraee - Fighter/Cleric or Bard/Fighter (Swords or Valour)

For people interested in the first PC, and the first playthrough in general, I made an extented poll over there. It asks about first PC, first party composition, how you'll interact with the Companions, and the romances you're interested in.

And if anybody here hangs out on Larian's Discord and would be kind enough to share a poll link over there, that would be really nice. I have made a copy of the poll for Discord (it's not the same link). But I can't post on Discord.

So, I was thinking what would be my first character in BG3 and I came up with couple of ideas, both good and evil-aligned.

• 1. My old classic trilogy concept, never materialised. A human sorcerer of blue dragon origin, a descendant of clan Morueme of the Nether Mountains. With dragonborn class, it's very tempting to switch from an initial idea of a human. Moderately evil run.
• 2. A classic moon elf wizard, (unfortunately we have only generic high elf subrace), good aligned.
• 3. A human oathbreaker paladin, the Dark Urge origin. An evil playthrough.
• 4. A tiefling monk, not yet sure about subclass, but this would be a good aligned character.
• 5. Emulating Drizzt Do'Urden type character. I always wanted to do it and now I finally have the right tools.

Well with the change to racial ability scores, not any Dwarf, Half elf or Human thats for sure. Paladin if they add choice for deity.

If not, Half Orc Barbarian or Elf Druid for first playthrough probably. But I plan on playing this game until I cant stand it anymore :P.

Currently I have a list of 12 playtroughs I want to do :P (including at least 4 of the origin characters). But some of those will have to be postponed until either Larian fix or a mod fixes my initial points.

Will absolutely do Drow, some sort of Dark Urge, and Dragonborn.

Hopefully Dwarf Cleric or Pally at some point. Tiefling prolly also after first 8-12 playthroughs :P.

Been going back and forth between Sorcerer and Wizard.

Drow Half Elf pure Thief with high Charisma, all-in on Deception, Stealth, Sleight of Hand, “always strike first” character, natural leader. Worshipper of Hoar, basically a cynical, cold, calculating, neutral Rogue. Drawing inspiration from Jarlaxle. But will RP him as Charname / Viconia offspring.

Also thinking about playing as Maralie Fiddlebender, niece of Oswald Fiddlebender, the flying ship-piloting gnome from IWD2 (ikr, 😂😂😂) Forest Gnome Arctic Druid from Icewind Dale.

Thinking of a high eleven sorceror Tav possibly using some of the broken multi class spell slinger to grab cleric spells and armour. No origin because I don’t like playing evil characters or in evil parties..

I keep hoping we'll eventually get aasimar but alas.
I plan to play a half wood elf, cleric or paladin. I'm a little sad that paladins can't choose a diety but maybe some multiclassing will make up for it. And eventually I'll do a dark urge playthrough! 😎
