In the PFH, they talked about relationships in the game. There was a joke about how you had to be careful in relationships because you could always end up sacrificed in a sex ritual to an evil god, turned into a vampire, or even worse, married!

While that's amusing, I wonder how much truth there is behind the words?

1. Which companion is going to sacrifice you in a sex ritual? Shadowheart, maybe? Minthara?

2. Which companion is going to turn you into a vampire? Okay, Astarion, obviously, right?

3. Which companion are you going to be able to marry?

1. Probably Wyll ( based on his patron and maybe this is his evil route)
2. Yeah astarion no doubt XD
3. Gale or Karlach or both who knows .

1) Minthara possibly. There's even a line in EA during her sex scene 'is this a seduction or a sacrifice'...a reference to the not-entirely undeserved reputation Drow ladies have of giving their partners the 'Spider's Kiss' during the act.

2) Asterion most certainly.

3) I can see this possibly being a couple of companions.

Shadow or Karlach for the marriage.

I can totally see Gale killing and aborbing the mc in some sort if ritual. Hes not a good dude.

1 Is Minthara, it's the Drow way. I'm still saying Viconia is in there, but that's not really her thing anymore. I know, I already did that.


3 Well. Karlach is my bet for marriage for sure, she's a mad fire-raging-demon spawn... But she's also portrayed as enjoying dress ups and restaurants and first dates proper; discussing marriage and kids with her friend. I'm guessing you can go either way with her. You probably have the hottest experience when you divorce her and take the dog with you.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bear Drylls proposes some Braveheart-esque marriage scene, either. I still suspect Shadowheart can convert [back] to a Selunite Ray of Sunshine - and in that case, yeah, probably.

Obviously the first thing coming to mind when hearing "murdered in a sex ritual" a drow comes to mind, so Minthara - she doesn't sound all that good :P Wouldn't also put it past Wyll (parhaps not willigly, but you know...he has a patron) or Astarion.

Astarion also comes to mind with the trurning into a vampire thing, but also... Shadowheart? Vampires are not really Shar's domain (?), but wouldn't put it past her to make everything uphill for her followers when they have too much of a good time, or, you know, fall in love.

And as for the last question... well, Karlach seems like a wife material from what we have seen. Also Gale is shown as a romantic (come on, that boat ride was at least swoon-worthy...unless that is the start of the sex ritual ).

Preferably all of them can have a happily ever-after though.

1. I would say Lae'zel or even Minthara can sacrifice you in a sex ritual.

2. Turning you into a Vampire would be Astarion but that would only happen by helping him become a true vampire. (Hence you are his mind and body)

3. I can see marriage with the rest such as Gale, Shadowheart, Karlach and Halsin.

1. Because of the "evil god" part, I think I'm going to count Wyll out. I think Minthara and Shadowheart come at the top of the list when you mention "evil god", so I going to go with that.

2. Other than Astarion, I don't really see a second choice, so Astarion it is then. The one who could turned you to a vampire.

3. Since they said marriage is the worst, and when people think of marriage at its worst, they usually think about settling down, but I can't name one character that gives me the "settle down" feel. So Gale, Shadowheart and Karlach would be my guess

2. Astarion obviously, unless there's some other actually cool vampire we don't yet know about.

3. I guess maybe all of them? It's not an unusual thing in RPGs now even for characters where it seems out of place initially.

I'm not sure what I think of Wyll's new outfit. Could he not have bargained for a proper shirt?

Might be his camp/casual outfit, as it doesn't look very adventurey. It will probably be possible to change it to the same degree as our own character's.

I'll probably marry Shadowheart and sacrifice Minthara. As for turning someone into a vampire I don't think I'll be able to do that as I don't plan to play as Astarion.

And who of the companions will do that to us?

I think that was what the OP asked and I'm genuinely curious to read the responses

In terms of which companion intends to sacrifice the player I don't know. The scene there showed mostly tieflings and we don't have a tiefling companion. I wasn't overly focused on that though I was talking about who I intend to sacrifice and we know we'll have the ability to sacrifice companions as that was confirmed.

Beyond that obviously we don't have the details on who are all the companions we can marry but I'm working on the presumption that any companion you can romance you can also eventually marry. In terms of ritual sacrifice you probably need some high level mind bending skills to convince someone to do that stuff like leaning heavily on the tadpole, high level charisma skills like deception and persuasion, etc....or you know, pray you get lucky with some nat20s but also with sufficient skill or luck you most likely can also make most companions do just about anything.

Sacrificed in a sex ritual: Since we see a scene with a player character and Wyll playing in the background, while the writer speaks about our Tav being sacrificed, I think it's Mizora who would sacrifice Wyll and our Tav. Are these succubi in the background?

Turn you into a vampire: I think there is not much choice - Astarion, if he becomes a true vampire. Although I don't think he necessarily wants to become one. When asked if he would need to drink Cazador's blood to become a true vampire, he says something along the lines of: in theory yes, but that he would settle for killing Cazador, to be free from him.
I don't think Cazador would turn our character into a true vampire, but I wonder what would happen if Cazador turns us into a vampire spawn: would we still be able to kill him with the other companions, or would this be a Game Over moment?
(I hope there will be an epic fight, Tav & the party vs. Cazador)

Marry: who knows - maybe all of them?

(I must admit that I am hoping for some kind of happily ever after for my characters and their partner.)

Even beyond the romance/marriage aspect, I hope there are satisfying endings for every path, not just bad endings and happy knight in shining armor ending. What I mean by that is that while being evil could lead you right under the control of the tadpole or the dead three(and there should be some bad endings there where the player straight up loses) I also hope that there are means to have evil victory as well where you not only resist but supplant these forces in some capacity and you take control of their armies and their plans and bring it to fruition to your benefit...and obviously pure good victory ending as well. And if we have a romantic partner or spouse when we reach those endings they should be acknowledged and be part of the victory celebrations in the end.

I dont want to spoil your fun ...
But didnt we litteraly see Shadowheart sacrificing someone in one of short trailers in PFH?
