has anyone play freedom force? it's an interesting RPG-like game. the way u create your heroes give them more personality, such as psychologically weak which means vulnerable to psychic attacks or tend to chicken out when the fighting gets tough, glass bones which means imunity to electrical attack yet vulnerable to melee attack, & the list goes on. when u introduce weakness, u get extra points to spend. some abilities/traits/perks will cost huge amount of points. in the end, no two characters are the same.
Freedom Force is one of my favorite games. It is one rare example of a game which modders were supported by the developpers. There are counless skins and models, along with animations and sounds. When a group of people made a skirmish mod for FF, the developpers, with their permission, added the menus and included the mod in the next patch. Also Irrational kept releasing models: in every model released they included a 3DSmax original file, allowing people to modify the mesh at will...
Why "RPG-like"? It was an RPG: with stats, experience and heroes.
Note that Glass Bones only lowers resistance to crushing attacks, nothing else.
There were negative perks and positive ones. Negative, as jangutt said, lower the character's cost, making it possible to recruit (You recruit by paying the character's cost, which is based on reputation points).
