It’s entirely possible that there is a Bladelock that wants proficiency in polearms. If Pact of the blade is modified to use CHA, rather than STR, for attack rolls.
Human Bladelocks might be able to combo PAM / Sentinel with Darkness / Devil’s Sight for a viable archetype.
