I thought about making a post about this. If memory serves the race is Gith and githyanki and githzerai are most or less cultural sects of that race with markedly different values and a way of going about living. So listing the githyanki on the race tab would be a mis nomer in this case.
Well, more or less.
At some point in their history 2 groups of Gith had kind of a falling out...one group followed Gith and became Githyanki, living in the Astral Plane. The others followed a guy named Zerthimon and went to limbo that were Githzerai. Gith and Zerthimon had a brawl at some point. From then on they developed a little different. Missing a lot of details but something like that
They are mortal enemies and follow completey different ways of life and beliefs. Githzerai are a neutral race.
