I wish I could remember who it was that said they would run a few playthroughs simultaneously, and I just love that idea. One Tav, one companion origin (Karlach I plan on) and one TDU. I think having the ability to compare and contrast without having to remember a playthrough from months earlier will be fascinating. Call it BG3: Rashomon
I’m pretty sure you are referencing my thread I made just before the forum surged in popularity.
Right now the plan is:
Tav: Tiefling Sorcerer 10 / Warlock 2 - not evil but a bit of a jerk
Dark Urge: Half-Drow Monk 8 / Arcane Trickster 4 - trying really hard to keep it together and make everybody get along whilst trying suppress insatiable bloodlust
Custom edgelord party (via hirelings) Half-drow Spore Druid Tiefling Shadow Monk Half-orc GOO Warlock Human Necromancer Wizard
Online with D&D friends: Arcane Trickster dwarf (actually an NPC they liked a lot from a campaign I ran for them, it’s gonna be a fun surprise for them)
I’m having so much fun theory crafting my characters. Anticipating is through the roof, especially since FF16 was a massive disappointment to me. All hopes on BG3 now, but I’m not worried because I’ve loved EA and have heard so many great things coming out about the full release.
About three years ago when EA hit, I played the everlasting crap out of it. Stealth play is *so* much fun in this. I had all kinds of theories about the Absolute and whatnot... Until I figured - it's best I don;t know. So I quit everything. Uninstalled, never visited the forums again, nothing on YT, no panels from Hell, nothing.
Until the last one, and I'm hyped. Can't wait to give Jaheira a hug. She needs one, I can tell. We're close.
Anyway. Yeah. Let's rock. I can't wait. So many things to try, so many corpses to talk to, dungeons to delve, goblins to slay, Jaheira's to hug.. It;s all just too much. My life is over August 3rd.
In three weeks we'll be going on adventures with Halsin and Jaheira or maybe Minthara. We'll be going to the city, which is probably what I'm looking forward to the most.
So many options for what to play. I keep switching ideas for characters I want to play.
Excited to play in a few weeks, I've been saving myself for the full game rather than playing early access, can't wait to finally get my hands on this thing.

In 3 weeks and at least 50-100 hours you’ll be visiting the city 😜
Remember the human (This is a forum for a video game):
DRAGON FIRE-AND DOOM Dragons? Splendid things, lad-so long as ye look upon them only in tapestries, or in the masks worn at revels, or from about three realms off... Astragarl Hornwood, Mage of Elembar - Year of the Tusk
I found this years ago, Havnt played it in a long time. Another good one...

It's a long road the next three weeks, but release is in sight.
I'm still playing around with character ideas, multiclass ideas, party composition ideas, direction ideas.
Very much looking forward.
This is a constructive use of time.
The information coming out about the gear and races is helpful.
I feel good about my choices, including race.
There are certainly some tempting choices.
Best Multiclass:
Sorlock { 2-3 Warlock / rest Sorcerer
Barbarian / Fighter (maybe a rank in rogue for skills)
Rogue with Monk or Fighter or Ranger
1 level of Rogue gives you 4 skills and expertise.
I thought of splashing 2 Paladin with my Bard but picking up Spirit Guardians at lvl ten trumps that (Using Shield + Drow armor for save advantage and the resilient con feat )
My character is fairly set by now. And funnily enough, I happen to have a week off after game release. That week off was unrelated, but I was pleasently surprised, when they changed the release date. I won't be able to play directly after release, since I will be at a short vacation with family and friends, but after that, I will knock myself out.
"We are all stories in the end. Just make it a good one."
My mind is absolutely flooded with character ideas I want to try out. I don't usually do an entire playthrough just to be evil, but Larian has made the evil playthrough look legitimately interesting with villain politics and exerting power over minions. I wasn't expecting that, and now I am sitting here pondering what kind of villain character I might make.
I wonder if there's a way to side with Kagha and the Shadow Druids and still join Minthara after the ritual is done. A Shadow Druid playthrough where I am using The Absolute to destroy civilization would be epic.
