I've been playing BG3 for about 30 hours, and I still find movement via camera angle incredibly difficult and confusing - but that's my problem. What adds considerably to navigation issues for me is the apparent differences between map and minimap, and the minimap's confusing compression. It would certainly help if the minimap could stick to the map's orientation (north is up) instead of swinging wildly round and round.

The map and minimap have been overhauled massively for the full release. I'm not sure whether the handling of orientation has changed, but I think you'll find at the very least that because both maps will be much clearer you'll find it easier to understand what you're looking at and how they relate to one another.

Truth be told, navigating and just movement and exploration took a lot of getting used to, for me the first time I played. You'll get the hang of it pretty soon, though.

Fear my wrath, for it is great indeed.

You an already lock the minimap to north is always up. It's in one of the options.

I just hope for the option to remove the minimap entirely.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN
