Thoughts on avowed? Specifically the race limits and changed from the earlier trailer to now?
Well, for one thing, Obsidian has officially stated we shouldn't go by how things looked in the new trailer because that is pre-alpha and does not at all represent how the game will look. So just want to mention that.
Avowed is fine, and I would play it for no other reason than because the PoE setting is second only to the FR as my favourite fantasy settings. But, first-person perspective is a hard 'no' and even a deal-breaker for me. I will play Avowed only if it comes with a third-person option. I also do hope they don't go changing too much with respect to gameplay mechanics. The constant tinkering with the rules and mechanics in the PoE games was aggravating.
Believe it or not, there are things about BG3 that I very strongly favor: its FR setting, that it is party-based, and its combination of isometric and third-person views.
