Anyone ever wonder why you couldn't take the Absolute's brand?
It allows True Souls to control whoever has the Mark.
Would be very useful in getting information, help, power, gold, etc.
Then if you are concerned about other True Souls controlling that person, just tell them to kill themselves, like in Moonrise.
Idk, just a thought.

It may be you can only take it after butchering all the gobbos. That's when I've seen it hanging out as loot, after being very anti-gobbo

You walk up to priestess Gut and she offers you the brand. If you accept it, then she brands you. Each of your companions can do the same thing.

It's the brand that allows you to use certain items, at least in Early Access.

Like, for instance, the Gloves of Power. They might Bane the enemy you're fighting if you're branded. But if you're not branded, they may Bane the enemy *and* you, because it's like a small curse type thing if you're not branded.

You absolutely can, and you should (in EA, long term, it will probably have negative consequences), since it gives you access to the gloves of power, which cast bane on enemies you hit with weapon attacks, as well as the absolutes warboard (you have to brand ALL your characters for this), which is by far the strongest item in the game, and gives three characters a concentrationfree shield of faith

Are we talking about different things? Gut can brand us, so in a sense that's taking the brand. But the brand is also left lying in one of the braziers, and you can pick it up, which is another sense of taking the brand.

But though I did try that latter in one patch, I couldn't then find a way of using it to mimic Gut's brand. Not sure if that changed? Or I just missed something obvious like trying to dip it in fire first. That feels like something that could have been added to Larian's systemics for the full release if it wasn't there in EA.
