Are they gonna be in the game?

Paladins won't be able to use them, but bards could.

Banishing Smite and Staggering Smite are both confirmed in the game and are Level 4 and 5 Paladin Spells.

I believe Paladin can only go up to Level 3 spells which they get at level 9 (We are capped at level 12, and level 4 spells starts at Level 13 for Paladin). Unless Larian is going to give Paladins improved spell progression?

Paladin multiclassed with full caster might be able to access higher level paladin spells.

But BG1 included spells that PCs where not high enough level to cast. DLC ready!
