Rodeolifant: Revan was Old Republic, so long before the movies. They used that character ( that like Gorions Ward was fully customizable) in books and in the MMO SWTOR and suddenly it was canonically a white male, not quite right in the head.
And I actually preferred Dynaheir to Edwin, I just did get rid of Minsc, because I didn't want him in the party.
I used Edwin in BG2 though.
