So i suggest adding a Warning window pop up, like you had in DOS 2 about playing as Undead, that sometimes Dark Urges will be outside of player's control.

Is that handholding? Absolutely and personally i don't need it, i am ready to go full in with consequences.

But there will be a lot of angry folks on release with pitchforks, mad at Larians for "denying freedom of choice".

Look, you will NEVER be able to protect stupid people from themselves, so don't try.

Also, you shouldn't be building any game to accommodate the lowest common denominator. It never works out well. Just put some shiny boobs on the box, they will buy it, die 5 times and give up and go away.

Larian will have their money, which will be put to better use. Everyone wins.

Also it's 'losing' control.

Loose - Not tight, or fixed in place.
Lose - Be deprived, or cease to have something.

Are you sure this wasn't a suggestion for you? It's an odd argument to make that somebody makes a choice and them complains that the choice they make is denying them freedom of choice - yet ignoring that they could go back and make a different choice.

I mean it's not like Larian is going to show up and be like "No, you have to continue that playthrough"
