Swen was just pointing out gnomes and halflings are kinda better for barbs and the like as you can throw them.

The point is that most likely Dwarfs have far less content compared to other races given how Larians talk about them and how they were handled in their previous game.

What kind of content do you expect?
Both for Dwarves and other races.

I mean, the shorter races are underrepresented imo. I like halflings and gnomes and they aren't treated much better atm. There is speculation about one or two more 'normal' companions and we can hope, it is one of the smaller races. While I secrtely still hope for Helia, I would also be happy with a well written dwarven companion. I'm in a minority here, but I would have preferred Nattie over Halsin as a companion (sorry Icelyn, I'm really happy for you). SHe had potential imo.

At least they say Gnomes are present narratively and Halflings would get a companion before it was scrapped. Dwarfs got nothing really.

Well, it would be third Druid ...
But i would welcome Nettie in my party aswell, i dunno if just feel so natural to me ... like:
"I need you to go find Halsin, YOU need to find Halsin aswell." > "Ok, so come with me."
Voila!

Anyway i think we need more companions in Act I. ...
I have no idea when, where, or how Hirelings will come to place ... actually not even for how long to be honest.
But if we join with Goblins, our group is effectively cut to half!
> Wyll leaves no questions, Karlach leaves no questions, Gale can be persuated but wants to leave aswell ... so we are stuck with Shadowheart, Lae'zel (who will try to murder each other sooner or later) and Astarion (presuming he is still alive).
We should get some replacements right here and there! Or really short after. :-/

Minthara is good addition ... in theory.
But as far as i know, she will be willing/able to join us only during Act II.

I can allready hear people yelling "there are so many Evil companions allready we need some Good guys" ... and yes, i agree with that statement.
The problem is, that Good character have still full party ...
Evil character ends up with empty hands quite fast ...

It seems kina weird doesnt it?
Larian is tempting us with power to evil, all our followers tend to evil, our only special Origin avatar is purely evil ... and when we do evil (as they want us to, concidering all signs), they screw us over.

Has there been some kind of change in D&D terminology.

The plural of - fictional - "dwarf" is "DWARVES". Adjectival, 'DWARVEN'.

That has been established since 1818 and was most popularly used by JRR Tolkien. It's part of the literary currency of the fantasy genre.

[It's not really important except that 'dwarfs' is the plural used by little people to encompass anyone who suffers from a condition that has an element of 'dwarfism' - ie. achondroplasia - and to differentiate themselves from fantasy creatures. Oh, an by astronomers describing dwarf stars]
