I mean, the shorter races are underrepresented imo. I like halflings and gnomes and they aren't treated much better atm. There is speculation about one or two more 'normal' companions and we can hope, it is one of the smaller races. While I secrtely still hope for Helia, I would also be happy with a well written dwarven companion. I'm in a minority here, but I would have preferred Nattie over Halsin as a companion (sorry Icelyn, I'm really happy for you). SHe had potential imo.
At least they say Gnomes are present narratively and Halflings would get a companion before it was scrapped. Dwarfs got nothing really.
