Has there been some kind of change in D&D terminology.
The plural of - fictional - "dwarf" is "DWARVES". Adjectival, 'DWARVEN'.
That has been established since 1818 and was most popularly used by JRR Tolkien. It's part of the literary currency of the fantasy genre.
[It's not really important except that 'dwarfs' is the plural used by little people to encompass anyone who suffers from a condition that has an element of 'dwarfism' - ie. achondroplasia - and to differentiate themselves from fantasy creatures. Oh, an by astronomers describing dwarf stars]
