I know there are spells. And that there will probably be items you can equip.

Do druids or rangers or their subclasses have it as an inherent skill? As in not needing to cast a spell. They just know how.

In EA, I have found both Speak with Dead and Speak with Animals very useful and fun. Obviously, you won't miss anything vital but there is a lot of good stuff there. I don't think anyone gets it as an inherent skill but several classes (and Forest Gnome) get the spells which are very good because they both last until long rest without using concentration so you can cast both and have them always available. Additionally, I think Disguise Self might be sneaky good too. First, it actually changes your appearance which is just fun, but I heard (haven't tried it) that you can use it to speak with dead who normally would not speak with you if you were the one who killed them.
