First of all: wow. Mindblowing - MINDBLOWING - last PFH. I have a countdown on my watch now until August 3rd and will play this game like crazy. Just a question, though: can in multiplayer a Tav and a Dark Urge play together?

Pretty sure you should be able to play even 2 Dark Urges, you're technically 2 different players so yeah, you can play Tav and DU on multi for sure.

If you look at the character selection menu, there is a separate section for Tavs and from Origins. Durge in is the Origin section, so it is unlikely that you can run two of them, just like you can't run two Shadowhearts or Gales. Even though Durge doesn't have a specific race or class, they are a very specific and singular character.

In the character creator Durge is treated like an origin, so if we can have two of them it would kind of be like having two Astarions or two Shadowhearts. I genuinely have no idea of how multiplayer handles this and haven't seen it discussed anywhere, though it's an excellent question. EDIT: I see benbaxter was in the middle of saying much the same thing as I was writing this

"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

It was just my guess, I'm sure about being able to play Tav and DU tho, wich was the actual answer OP wanted.
I understand why you cannot play 2 shadowhearts or 2 gales but considering DU is 100% customizable I don't see how is it any different than playing 2 Tavs, yes DU has more background but I don't see why that would prevent 2 different players play that same origin.
EDIT: Again, just what I think, I might be completly wrong.

apparently there were some comments from one of the devs indicating that while DU won't be recruitable if you aren't playing as them, they *will* show up as an npc later in the game.
