Lately I've heard folks referencing the "Nightfeast" stuff in Grymforge, saying that Shadowheart approved of cannibalism?

Why was the feast cannibalism? I'm trying to remember, to think back, and for some reason, I was thinking it was a ceremony where the Sharrans had a big feast and then killed someone. Or vice versa, I'd have to go back to that particular scene.

But I don't remember anyone saying they were eating the person that got killed. Is that implied somehow? Did I miss something?

I just thought they had a big thanksgiving type dinner and killed some baddie selunites.

Suspicions of cannibalism fueled by ... Larian being Larian?

Don't get me wrong... it would probably be cooler if it were cannibalism. That would certainly make the scene more viscerally shocking. Certainly a stronger story point than eating a really big turkey with all the trimmings.

But I didn't get that impression when I saw the scene, so I was wondering if I missed something. Or if people were offering speculation as what was really happening. I guess my question is: do we really know that or are we speculating?

I may load up early access this evening to go over the scene again carefully.

I honestly don't remember that scene. Was it on EA? I think, I finshed the Grymforge area only once, since I find it a bit lacking.

Grymforge lacking??? Oh my goodness, oh my heavens, I think I'm fainting, the world is spinning out of time and rhythm.

Regarding the scene, I can say where it takes place in Grymforge. I put it in spoilers below. I don't necessarily think that's a spoiler, but I figured better cautious than not.

Do you remember the room where the Duergar are getting rid of the deep gnome bodies, shoving into the lake? It's the area where you can find the invisibility ring. There's a set of big doors there that you can enter. Inside is the remnants of what the characters refer to as a "Night Feast" which seems to be some sort of Sharran ceremony. Basically a dining room with some tables, all full of plates and goblets and whatnot. The characters say the night feast is disgusting (except Shadowheart who thinks it's swell).

I remember the ceremony involved a big feast and the killing of a selunite. But I don't remember anything about eating the selunite, so I'm not sure where this idea is coming from. But I've seen more than one person reference it in the last couplefewwhatever days.

No, I don't like Grymforge much, imo it is the weakest hub in EA. I do like, that we can recruite Barcus as a camp follower, but that's it.
I think, I remember what that was. I'm pretty sure, it was cannibalism or at least some sort ritual involving eating some bodypart or drinking the blood, since I don't think, Sharrans are about fancy dinner.
I tried googeling Shar & Nightfeast, but nothing did come up, so I think, it is something, Larian made up? If so, better believe, it is the worst possible thing XD

It wasn't cannibalism. It was a feast that ended in ritual sacrifice of the participants.

Nice of the Sharrans to feed them first, nobody likes getting sacrificed on an empty stomach.

I didn't find Grymforge especially memorable myself. Maybe because I never made it to the actual forge with the golem and whatnot. But more likely because it's an area full of villains and unpleasant slavers. I much prefer the Myconid village. That's probably my favorite hub in EA. Love that place and all the quests associated with it. I almost want to run a spore druid just to see the reactivity.

Excellent screenshot, thank you.

Grymforge is the best! I love Grymforge! I have so much fun sneaking around, and it feels dangerous and evil and steeped in history. The duergar really captured my imagination there. They're a step up from the goblins, in terms of strength, I mean. The goblins are inspired also, in my opinion.

Heck, I love it all.

+1 - Yeah I love Grymforge as well. It's an interesting place - but I noticed a lot of groups get really nervous going in there because they feel cut off from safety and it seems so alien to them.

The battles though are incredible (if buggy) and the history and information is very cool.

There is meat labeled as dwarf parts. I remember ribs for sure, and I think legs and one other part.

There was. The dwarf was one of Aradins group, I think you can find his journal. They might have changed that in later patches though.

I always assumed Grimforge was half-baked. It felt like it needed much more work, compared to the rest of the content. I did it twice (when it release, and once during one of the later patched) but I don’t remember it changing much.

While i believe Goblins wouldnt disdain any meat ...
I dont think them eating a Dwarf is relevant ... after all, that is not canibalism.

I'm fairly sure one of the Goblins complaining - in a "is it done yet?" way - that dwarf takes like forever to cook.
