25% DOS2.5, 50% D&D5th, 25% weird homebrew.
That is how I would categorize Baldur's gate 3.
Not too shabby. But man do I wish the companions were 100% D&D style. Worst part of the game for me. I cannot stand any of them. Maybe just new Wyl is the standout.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..
