I'm not sure any of this is supposed to be a genuine secret though. If it were then based on Larian's track record we would be able to ask them so that they could tell us it's none of our business.
Probably not a secret, but a story for later.

Was it clear lae'zel was with the githyanki attacking the nautiloid?
It was very clear that she was not.
I mean, if you start new game ... right at the start, Illithid comes and implant your and Lae'zel with tadpole. Then it leaves the room, come to the helm, reveal that Nautiloid curently abowe Yartar ... AND THATS WHEN ATTACK STARTS!
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!
I don't think we've actually seen how the m/m sexual pairings play out as the sex scenes during EA have mainly been "Under Construction". Though I believe that in an earlier patch there might have been an early sneak preview of the Astarion scene, I've not seen it myself. And we saw a version of Halsin and Astarion in the recent PFH, but of course it cut away before anything "interesting" happened.
There was mention in the latest Community Update of romance as The Dark Urge which referred to liking bondage, which I'm guessing might mean that if you play as that character (you can't recruit them as a party member) you might be able to shape a D/S relationship of some sort, but that's pure speculation at this stage.
This is simultaneously terrifying and intriguing, and I'm surprised I didn't remember this earlier myself from the panel.
I can imagine that perhaps the Dark Urge may attempt to corrupt certain people in his vicinity, as sometimes that can be an even more cruel or insidious act.
Also, the idea of the Dark Urge getting someone to tie them up only to somehow kill them anyway would be amusing, albeit hard to pull off.

What's a little bondage-murder between friends? Somehow I doubt it'll go THAT far, but there's something to be said for knife/blood play. I was kind of hoping we'd be able to
cut off Gale's hand
and still romance him, but that looks unlikely >.> Though honestly, the comment on bondage is encouraging, even if it was in jest.

I swear to Bhaal if this game is full of kink play I hope whoever wrote those scenes is prepared for what they’re unleashing on the world. Because no mainstream game has ever gone that far.

It's hard to tell, but it could be as simple as having a DU PC telling a love interest that they need to tie him or he will kill them... not exactly kink.

Oh my sweet summer child...
It VERY much is.

Haha. It REALLY is. Whether we're talking high aggression or violence as kink, or even just people that enjoy writing about murdering/being murdering... On into say, scarring a partner as a romantic gesture. Bit off SSC and more into the far side of RACK or beyond.

Have you played EA? Are you familiar with the priest of Loviatar? There's already knifemace/blood play, and the companion reactions are fantastic.
I haven't even thought of this in terms of origin runs before. What is SH's dialog in that scene?
I haven't played EA, but I am familiar with Loviatar. That sounds like it's going to be really exciting actually; as someone planning to do DU as first play, definitely curious to see how this goes!

a full (spoiler guarded for those it's important to) report will be something a lot of us would love to read
It's a scene that walks the line between fantastic and overwritten as it is in EA, and it would be super boring without the companion reactions, but the companion reactions sell it. I'm looking forward for you on your first encounter of it

Once upon a time almost 30 years ago, a friend was telling her memory of her little sister who when she was little always wanted to share her icecream with everyone because it's so good. That's the feeling I have with this. I'm not kinky in a blood etc kind of way, but that this is in the game in a really enjoyable way role-play wise (mostly on account of companion reactions), is icecream i want to share

I love this. Honestly the BG3 community has been fantastic, and I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and zest for the game. Even when people are arguing it comes from a place of wanting the game to be as good as possible. Loviatar was always one of my favorite gods in the setting, so it's definitely cool to hear there's a scene with the their priests. Super curious to see how the various Dark Urge options shape up, as I definitely intend to lean into it a bit. Largely against enemies (barring romance options with it, I guess, lmao), but still. Sometimes it's just fun to indulge those darker sides.

In case anyone wants to have watch the current EA version, I found it on youtube:
With the release I'm bringing this back, as I think it could be a useful resource for people looking for information. I haven't gotten to the point of romancing anyone yet, my group is moving a bit slower, but when I find out I'll toss it in here. I'd encourage anyone else to do so as well, with as few spoilers and as many factual statements as possible, eg 'X will top' or 'B will bottom' or 'Y does both', on into who welcomes poly/open relationships, etc.
What I've determined so far: * Astarion is open to a poly with Halsin. * Gale is NOT open to a poly with Astarion. * Halsin tells you up front that he is not a monogamous kind of guy and you need to accept this before starting a relationship with him (breaks my heart a little, but quite understandable).
Gale doesn't seem open to poly/open relationship at all, fwiw. Current playthrough I was hoping to do Halsin and Gale together but Gale is not at all pleased, so trying to work on fixing that. Possibly he works with Wyll, but definitely not Halsin.
