It might make more sense for them to linger in the more open area encounters, but ever those would biodegrade over time.

I didn't really mind it at all in DOS2, but if you ask me to critically think about it then its more immersion breaking to me that they never go away.

I'm in this camp. Near a more built up area, you'd expect people to come along and do something about dead bodies. And I'm sure the druids and tieflings wouldn't want to draw attention to their Very Secret Entrance by having a bunch of dead goblins lying around just by it. And in a wilderness area you'd think animals and insects would make reasonably short work of any corpses. As long the disappearing act itn't happening while I'm looking at the screen, I don't mind bodies vanishing. In fact, I until I read this it hadn't really registered that they did and I certainly have no idea how long it takes, so however it's working now clearly isn't impinging on my immersion!
