Bard wants to be level 10 so that currently gives you two levels of something else without giving things up... i wouldn't worry about dlc adding to level 12 anytime soon or ever really as thats a major jump
extra story quests and perhaps some new races is much more realistic dlc target
also in EA the bard inspire is bugged above level 4 so thats a temp down side to the valor bard
