If I could updoot this post I would. I have watched a LOT of new players seriously fuck everything up when they didn't know what they were doing. I am really hoping Larian gets this bit right.
I imagine also that WOTC wants people to buy the PHB and other books though so they may be forced to compromise by only explaining core systems and not the actual rules.
I mean, that's literally what i did when I first purchased the EA, I bought the PHB and the handbook on my iPad. I regret nothing.
