I just noticed this short interview about Durge has been published by Larian on Twitter. It might be coming to other places soon, but as I hadn't seen any one mention it here yet thought I'd pop in a link.
Not that there's anything really new or surprising, beyond what we've already heard, but still worth a watch I reckon:

It seems like the amnesia and customisability of the origin is to encourage us to be our own person dealing with these urges and mystery of our origins, as opposed to being a definite pre-determined personality. I'm not against having multiple sources of temptation to be evil in a good playthrough though (tadpole, Bhaal-powers, etc.). If being good were easy, everyone would do it.
