I was going to post something similar. I don’t think there have been any great abundance of RPGs, especially CRPGs, over the past ten years. RPG of the decade isn’t actually as impressive as it sounds.
Disco Elysium is probably BG3's strongest competition.
Isnt DE more of a clicker, does it even have combat?
RPGs don't have to have combat. CRPGs specifically *may* need combat, depending on your definition of CRPG. But in Disco Elysium you have stats, you roleplay as a character, you make choices whose success is determined by your stats+rng rather than player skill...it's solidly a RPG.
Also technically yes, there are at least two instances of combat.
