I think every person who knows how weapons work would agree that they would rather have Shortsword (and/or scimitar/rapier) proficiencies for humans than the random pokey sticks that they get.
There is no class that benefits from getting polearm weapons that wouldn't get them from their class features anyway. Strength is the dump stat for casters, and any class that uses strength as a primary attribute gets martial weapons anyway.
On the other hand, there are tons of casters that would benefit from being able to upgrade from a dagger to a shortsword or other martial finesse weapon since they are usually aiming for at least a 14 in Dex.
Can we get this message to Larian, please?
