OP here personally I dump Intelligence, since only 2 classes uses it as their main stat and one of those 2 classes aren't even in BG3.
Yep!
Thankfully I prefer to play a Wizard to keep you from accidentally eating poison or strangling yourself with your own underwear while trying to put them on (I have to keep reminding you to stop trying to put them on over the head style....sigh)
The smartest stat to dump is Strength since you can just use a potion. You would know that if you hadn't dumped Intelligence :P
Strength = unga bunga hulk smash Dexterity = stupid pyjama dodger Constitution = easy mode Intelligence = arrogance Wisdom = boringness Charisma = mary sue

Let's just hope you're standing next to a Paladin if you encounter Mind Flayers:
Mind Blast (Recharge 5–6). The mind flayer magically emits psychic energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or take 22 (4d8 + 4) psychic damage and be stunned for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
That would depend on the character I choose to play.
Fighters and barbarians don't need to think to swing a sword, warlocks, rangers, bards and rogues generally have little need for strength since they're agile or charismatic (or both ).
I never play nerdy milk-drinking bookworms or sorcerors.
Thats what i keep telling people in all "rolled stats" topics for last two years. It may seem crazy, you dont have to believe it, but not all people roll just to have as many 18 as possible.
//Edit: I would certainly concider replay Raistlin. >:] And tell me, is there anyone more iconic for Con 3?
(Yes, i know he belong into Dragonlance and i dont care! :P )
//2. Edit: I just checked, and Rolled stats are still metnioned in FAQ! So ... im not loosing hope?

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!
Yes, for me the dump stat definitely changes with character, but I do find myself gravitating towards low strength characters. I also often dump constitution, or at least have relatively low constitution, which is more a role playing thing as it tends to suit my favoured characters and I generally enjoy working around limitations. But then I find myself having a blast playing a high strength, high constitution barbarian.
I voted strength here, though, as I’m sure it’s my most frequent dump stat.
"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"
Strength overall is dump stat in 5e. In 3e/3.5/PF1e you at least had to work toward were dexterity been able give both to hit and damage bonus to melee. In 5e finesse weapons are no-brainer pick. And game right away lets you utilize dex for both to hit and damage bonus. Plus, despite 5e kinda trying to bring concept that all stats now have saving throws, they did very little to actually support it. 90% of spells (and other effects) still have either dexterity, constitution or wisdom saving throw (older reflex, fortitude and will saves). And only very few have strength, intelligence or charisma save. And of course, on top of that plainly armor class, especially since 5e again doing very poor job on trying limiting how much you get benefit from dexterity in that way.
Intelligence at least also gives you more skills, more languages, and key stat for Wizards. Charisma key stat for sorcerers and bards and needed for any dialogs.
Strength... if only for athletics... but even then, where there athletics option, there almost always alternative with acrobatics as well. So in the end strength really good only for carrying capacity (barely a problem, since player control all characters, and can easily move items in between inventories, even less problem later in the game with bag of holdings). And jump distance, which again can be overcome with many spells and abilities.

Good old Raistlin, My favorite dnd Character of all time, Then tied for second Drizzt and Tasslehoff Burrfoot Third, hmmm Pharaun (from war of the spider queen)
DRAGON FIRE-AND DOOM Dragons? Splendid things, lad-so long as ye look upon them only in tapestries, or in the masks worn at revels, or from about three realms off... Astragarl Hornwood, Mage of Elembar - Year of the Tusk
The more I play EA the more I gravitate towards avoiding STR as the dump stat. I can have other characters make the INT rolls, but they can’t jump for my PC, and my PC is always picking stuff up first so the carrying capacity helps. STR just comes up in more things I can’t substitute other characters to cover.
