Curious, this may have been addressed if so I obviously missed it.
First off disclaimer, I know we are on a forum that revolves around a fantasy world / make believe.
Can someone tell me How does a blue dragon / dragonborn have a draconic bloodline that not only isn't from the same color but the opposite /Chromatic/metallic bloodline?
also my strength isn't English art, thanks for your patience. I hope I articulated this question correctly.

DRAGON FIRE-AND DOOM Dragons? Splendid things, lad-so long as ye look upon them only in tapestries, or in the masks worn at revels, or from about three realms off... Astragarl Hornwood, Mage of Elembar - Year of the Tusk
Draconic sorcerers have dragon heritage mixed with some non-dragon ancestor. So is a red dragon got busy with a blue Dragonborn, that’s a way to arrive at the situation you describe.

I am curious as to why we dont see "mixed race" dragons in the game. It could make for some very powerful encounters.
per my question on Chromatic and metallic dragons, A lawful evil Red Dragon pairing with a lawful Good silver dragon. Would they get both elemental resistances and breath weapons?
its silly question like this that keep me passing the time for the game, Like, Why did Shar send a lv one Cleric to steal a artifact from a bunch of psychopathic murdering space pirates? Did she (Shar) run out of high lv Clerics or hell she could of sub contracted a high lv wizard to at least be able to teleport. Or even yet why didn't shar a God just get the artifact herself?
I cant tell you how many times I've seen Shadowheart one shoted from a intellect devourer in the first minute of landing upon Torel, and Im to believe she is the one Shar picked. lol
I know I know step away dude step away, don't look behind the Curtin.

Maybe dragons can interbreed but are too proud to?

I think that says more about you than Shadowheart. 😂
But maybe Shadowheart was the party apprentice. She only survived because she was sitting in back with the luggage when her superior ran up, screaming and engulfed in witch fire, handed her the McGuffin and collapsed. 🤗
I wonder if dragon wings make it into the game. It'd be hella cool to play a draconic sorcerer dragonborn with wings. If I recall correctly it is a 15th level feature in the PHB, nut may be Larian could unlock it at level 12? Please?

Draconic bloodline sorcerers can be of any race. It is just fluff to give some flavor to the sorcerer class. In D&D, the fantasy is that sorcerers obtain their magical power from some magical ancestor (it could be a dragon or some other magical being).
There is little one can do when the enemy gets the initiative and runs up and slaps the shit out of her. Any way I like your reply, dismiss me. Its no less a question as to why can a 4 ft halfling have the same strength as a 6'10 350 pound half orc

I think it has something to do with the Tadpole resetting everyone back to level 1, I mean Wyll is supposed to be this great hero and yet somehow gets killed fighting goblins in his first appearance or if you got Glitchy Wyll who jumps off the cliff and immediately kills himself on impact.

Maybe, but Dragonborn definitely interbreed between their types, to the point where the original lore text for Dragonborn talked about generations of interbreeding creating a uniform mixed appearance, with only the very strongly-blooded, or those from specific clans, showing more distinct heritage.
Dragonborn tend to have brownish muddled colors because of generations of mixed breeding. With dragonborn sorcerers they could have any number of magical ancestors who's blood manifests in them

Good to know,
I thought (my own fault) that they were dragons breed with humanoids. Ive never played them in any campaign setting. The first time I even seen them was in Neverwinter online, Never played one. Thanks

we can hope for that DLC that takes us to lv 20 and complete all our sub classes

The Dragonborn Draconic Lineage sorcerers with mixed ancestry look very distinctive in the character creation videos. You could have a Gold Dragonborn with a pattern of Red scales, for instance.

Dragons actually would never mix blood. Thy are driven to choose only partner of their own heritage. Hence why you never encounter dragon of strange colors. Albeit in lore there are rares types of dragons. Like Song Dragon, Fang Dragon (Grey Dragon starting from 4th edition), and other. Still none comes from mixed blood.
As of OP. Roleplay-wise - yes. It would be proper to choose dragon of the same heritage. Alas 5e doing very poor job on restricting such situation, even if that means clearly broken immersion. You can have CE Paladins of Redemption... you can have chaotic monks, lawful barbarian. And you can have abominations like Gold Dragonborn, with Blue dragon bloodline for sorcery.
