Dragonborn are part of the core rules and in the Player's Handbook. Lizardfolk aren't. It's basically that simple.

I mean they only promised the PHB races, but they went above and beyond that.
Sorry you find it to be an "unacceptable compromise" even though no one ever said they would be in the game, ever.
Still, I have no doubt someone will offer a mod for it, at some point.
