Since you can't game on a Mac, this probably shouldn't be in technical gameplay problems.

Imagine the reaction of the PC gamer community, if Larian had communicated the same way about the release of the PC Version.
One and a half hour before potential release and absolute no info if it will happen or not.
Simply nothing. That's pathetic !
Writing a comment just to give your message a thumb up, cuz for some reason that forum didn't have one.

One is tempted to think that company A has sponsored company L into an NDA.

So that company A can have its grand moment.
During an important event for company A on September, 12th they can proudly announce that Baldur's Gate 3 is available for MacOs right now.

September 12th is only about latest iPhone and some new updates for iOS and Apple Watches, I have serious doubts about a link between Apple and Larian for a sudden release on App Store.
iPad Pro would be able to run the game but... UX would be quite poor in my opinion.

I hope I'm wrong, then it means that I could ditch the game from my external SSD and stop going to PC Bang to play BG3

Not necessarily just about iphone on the 12th. I could totally see a general media content segment with apple TV releases and games, or even a quick mention that the new macOS version is becoming available the same day of the first AAA optimised for apple silicone.

Right, if it works on MacBook Air, it must work on iPad. Let's hope !

Long time Mac user here. We are used to Mac versions of software following PC releases. Macs are just more complicated to program for. I've been playing BG3 EA on Steam for a month (?) now and love it. I really don't mind that it's only act one. I get to try out multiple builds and parties and see how the game changes. There is a HUGE benefit to going last in that Larian will have more time to improve this great game even further with storyline, gameplay and other improvements on the PC and console releases. By the time the Mac version comes out, the game will be at its best.
(Im hoping to get some sleep somewhere around October....)

This is like saying you can't game on Linux.

Ok, it seems it's the other logical reason, they give a sh#t about the Mac community.
Leassons learned: Never ever give Larian money until they release a product on the platform you prefer.

haha right, at least it gave me a little bit of hope to wait.
I am lucky tho, I have access to PC Bang (sort of internet café with powerful computers) to play on windows, and at home I have my steam deck that runs it smoothly.
Still... I wish I could just play on my laptop without spending $0.80 per hour or without complaining about the Steam Deck resolution on cinematic that are limited to 1280x800.

2 weeks left to October. What are your next expectations? Who would like to bet on Week 38? Who on the 39 week of the year? and who thinks that there will be no release at all this month?

Even if I start to think there will be no release, I would bet on 39th week... Just because of hope.

I bet on Sep 26-27 (Sonoma release date), because Game Mode is a really useful thing when something big (like BG3) kicks on. And as a second though, I think Apple will use BG3 as a part of Sonoma commercials, like they already did with Kodzima's project. But it's just my try to hold some hope to play a full version of BG3 on September frown

I suppose "early september" soon can become smth like "late september" or "early october" and etc., with that kind of communication, which larian choose for mac-minority.
I suppose, the best decision now can be to forget about this game for month or two, then return and take a look how everything turned out. I'd even gladly refund the game till it fully released, but more than hundred hours in EA won't let me do this. xD

There is also "Rogue trader" promised to be released on 7th of december, so they have chances to be the first on mac ))

Still no Mac release yet and no updates from Larian. This is disappointing, especially for those who purchased the higher-tiered game versions (like digital deluxe). I already requested a refund from Steam even though I have over 200 hours into the game. I tried playing on Bootcamp, but the drivers are not up to date, and the game runs poorly, especially in Acts 2-3. FYI, my Mac is an Intel i9 (3.6 GHz), 32 GB RAM, with the Radeon Pro Vega 48 (8GB version).

I also recommend anyone who bought the game on MacOS to request a refund. Considering that Mac makes up 31.34% of the home computer market (as of May 2023), it is sad that we are put on the back burner. Here is the link to show the new data I posted.
