A detailed denouement could have been presented without revealing anything meant to be revealed by Riftrunner. Some things were concluded by Divine Divinity, were they not? The ending could have had a narrator describing how the plague was halted, how the dwarves and elves made peace, how the duchy recovered from the orc invasion, how the Dark Forest was rid of monsters, how the merchants of Verdistas recovered, how the humans chose someone to replace the possessed Janus, and whether or not our hero's reputation was restored after his great sacrifice at the Council of Seven and his extermination of the Demon of Lies.

As was, the ending was flat. After days of vicarious adventuring, my only sense of accomplishment from the ending was that my hero had slain the Demon of Lies. I might have been rewarded with a sense of accomplishment for all that I'd done. To continue this adventure I might have been given some inspiration. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" />

Solipsism is a human being's only valid concept of self.
