Well, Larian is going to have to come up with either some clever way of dancing around the issue or cutting through that particular gordian knot with a retcon, because they *are* going to have to address it somehow in the game with Minsc, Jaheria, and who knows who else returning to the series. People hate Abdel. Larian knows this (otherwise the book you can find in-game wouldn't be so...vague...about the Bhaalspawn) Implementing Abdel as per the awful 'Murder in Baldur's Gate' canon would be a major let down for any returning players from the original games, so they have to have a plan worked out to address the elephant in the room. To do otherwise would be....incomprehensible, to say the least.
