Also, when Dark Urge was announced I wondererd if that *is* CHARNAME, or rather what is left of them after Bhaal emerged and reformed. Only kept around for Bhaals amusement and as a revenge for blocking the taint for so long. ^^
My theory is that Durge is more of an energy source for Bhaal to help reconstruct himself. A nice little fountain of murderous intent and death to keep the blood pumping while his divine energy is collecting enough for him and his buddies to gain full godhood again.
