Minthara needs to die in one of the two initial "paths" relating to the druid grove. At least this seems to be the case in early access. So she's bound to get a lot of votes for that reason.
Basically recruiting Minthara meant losing both Wyll and Halsin, at least if EA is to be trusted. However, the fact she is a companion might mean she has more depth than it catches the eye. No idea.
