Imoen either survived through her Bhaalspawn taint or is probably dead. The page shown above is from a third party release (although by a former writer of BG2) and is full of bad ideas. It is *not* canon. And I for one would be very annoyed if Larian builds from this book.
Honestly, it's a little hard to keep track of what is and isn't canon now. For example, Neera from BG2:EE is canon, despite not being in the canon book, and was added many years after the conclusion of all canon events surrounding the Bhaalspawn saga.
Now who can say with 100% certainty what is and what is not canon?
The Book is also not canon. For example, according to the books Minsc was a redhead rando from Athkatla and Jaheira was dead.
Many people think the book is canon because of the Abdel Adrian name, but quite a lot of things actually contradicts the books. Luckily.
What is Canon for BG3? BG2 happened, somehow. Minsc is alive and Jaheira is alive. That we know. If they use the comics as canon, then Neera existed and Coran knows Minsc.
Thats it. There is no oficial canon outside from the campaign settings. Every supplementary book can be part of your tables canon, but be unconanical somewhere else. We are soon sitting on Larians table, but we do not yet have a full picture what is canon there.
But if you don't know what canon is, how can you be sure what canon isn't?
I think books are what you can consider loose canon, just like games (after all, the games weren't 100% linear and you could make some major decisions). The basis and most important events are true, but some minor plot twists are open to interpretation in different ways.
I think it's safe to say the books are canon until another canon source says otherwise. Then it's open to interpretation.
The issue is that we already have things in the game that contradict the books. And I have yet to meet anyone who has anything even decent to say about them..
Sorry for the lack of quotes, can't quote because of the forum lag.. I think?
There's been a lot of speculation regarding continuity between the games. It was actually what brought this fellow to the forum. I think we should be prepared for an amalgam of all the possible choices into a somewhat coherent backstory for BG3. I suspect they'll try to avoid going into great detail, as hard to conceive as that might be with Jaheira and Minsc running around.
I'd forget anything from the books making an appearance

On Edwin's page from the book whose pages I posted here (and which you claimed is not canon) there is information that has all been converted to BG3. We know it's true because it's already been confirmed in the game. So it looks like the book is canon, at least for larian studio.
This is a moderate spoiler, so read at your own risk.
Okay, about Jaheira... I found an interview with Swen Vincke by a local games news site link here, maybe you'll be able to translate it via google translate, but...
Quote
Jaheira, która ma skomplikowaną historię. Poznasz jej dzieci.
Translates to: "Jaheira, who has a complicated history. You will meet her children."
A player having a romance with a hag has happened in a game. We're discussing that very game. It is possible, but if course it would take a skilled writer to put it off satisfactory.
Jaheria has already became higher druid since bg2 tob, I think she is too strong to become member of a new party as minsc. However, she can be a good quest giver that give out new quests to make your party progress.
Full agreement with I think she is too strong to become member of a new party as IMO she should be lvl 20 i.e. bordering on semi-divine. She should be a "nuclear bomb" equivalent.

The tadpole seems to reset your level though and we got confirmation that Minsc has a parasite, so it is likely Jaheira has one too.
Reset by Tadpole? Not an explanation I'd accept, as at her level she would simply shrug off such an STD and not be infected. On the other hand, Minsc was too dumb to resist :P But not my monkeys, not my circus ...
Or ... Level is just game mechanic that have litterally nothing to do with story told and we are just connecting dots that dont belong together.
Also im quite sure that Jaheira dont have any brainbug, in scene we have seen on PFH she didnt sense Swens character, nor that Flaming Fist dude ... the tadpole she had in jar didnt react on her in any way ... Swens character didnt have any option to sense her either ...
Basically all we know abouther is that she sits on her ass in some sort of camp ... While Minsc was kidnapped ...
So it on the contrary seems lukely that she is actually NOT tadpoled.
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

Ehm, that is news to me. Where was *that* of all things confirmed?
I can't find my copy of Minsc and Boos (and DM Guild is weird), but I do recall some stuff that does not really fit BG3, but I could misremember it. There are some terrible ideas in it though.
When I say "book" I usually refer to the Baldurs Gate Trilogy of Novels, which are *very* hated. Minsc and Boos Journal of Villany is merely disliked for some idiotic ideas, like Sarevok being a begger and later a Bhaalist.Or Bodhi being somehow alive *after being fully destroyed*. Or the entire needless connection between Irenicus&Bodhi and the Shadowfell.
Judging by the icon this is a YouTuber I try to blacklist on every social media platform I find and thus would like to ask if we have this info from literally any other source? This one I wouldn't trust even to tell me the weather.

I don't have a high opinion of this YouTuber, but in Edwin's case, he quotes things from the book and shows a video from game that backs them up. The only thing that matters is that video from the game, as I couldn't find it anywhere separately.

I am very doubtful that dialogue proofs ..anything. Aside from L. having different fame in different places? Or it is a hint that he may have made a pact with someone or something.
I am rather unconvinced, though I will admit that I dislike the very idea. Edwin in the original was a megalomaniac who tended to try stuff way above his actual power. The thought that he could successfully stay low and live under such a guise is ..weird. So yes, I am biased and that could blind me to it, but I really don't see it.
And I mean, a lot of stuff in that book is either random or straight up insulting to the characters. (Not Edwin though, that one I find only weird.)

I admit I found the Bodhi and Irenicus stuff a bit disrespectful. Their story had meaning and closure. There isn't a single reason to bring them back.
But on the other hand, I quite like that they brought back Sarevok.
Sarevok was a man who had everything. Money, beauty, power, love and inheritance of god in his veins. However, he lost everything and spent the rest of his life trying unsuccessfully to fill the void that was left in him. (Practically all of his possible endings in ToB.) I can picture him quite vividly as an old and broken man.
I think if someone offered him everything he lost again, he wouldn't hesitate for a minute.
since Minsc journal is not canon and never should be.
"Canon" has always been a fuzzy term referred to D&D materials, with multiple sources contradicting each other depending on the author ideas and ultimately leaving to the consumer to decide what fits in his/her preference. Any source debating the status of Minsc's journal?
