Cheers You're a human too, just as am I. Really, don't expect any post starting with venting to be civil though. If I'd have meant it to be that, I'd have written "I'm unhappy, please be nice to me". But you're welcome for clarification. I'm pissed, not, even though people seem to think that, a total asshole. Could you go back to being one towards me though? I felt a little better having a specific person to focus my anger towards :P Joke aside though, we're all wanting to play this game sooner rather than later, that unites us. I'm still pissed, but I'll try to focus it into better wording in the future.

I, too, am from Germany and I don't really care tbh. I will have stuff to do on August 3rd and on August 4th I will be on a short vacation with family and friends, so I will probably download the game and pla Monday afternoon, when I'm back - fully aware, that you guys will spoiler me into oblivion  At least I can download in peace then, without millions of others downloading too. I won't spoil anything, promise  And I hate that I'm not able to see it like you do. Your life seems way more relaxed than mine.

Plus having real life interfer. I'm looking forward to the game, but I waited two years (since then I did early access), so I'm ok with waiting a bit longer. And maybe then the first patch will already be out (if necessary) and maybe the first mods (I love the Basquet of Equipment and KittyTails hair and faces - and have lowkey hope to be able to start with them, though I hope, the armor varitety will be better in the finished game)

As long as I can download the game before launch, I'm still ok.
But if they only release the download after the 3rd at 19pm, then I'm not ok.
I've said it before, and asked the forums before:
PLEASE LET US DOWNLOAD THE GAME BEFORE LAUNCH!

I'm free in the day and working the evening of the 3rd so this feels like Larian delayed Christmas till the 26th. Which in spite of my gripes is about the biggest compliment I can give to the game.

Why are you reading a thread that has venting in the title if you're just here to belittle people? And it's three pages because there's people that feel like me, people that feel differently and we're having discussions, vent together and such stuff.

That's exactly what I feel. Were this Starfield or the Cyberpunk DLC, I wouldn't feel so strongly. I'm waiting for those too, but BG3 is way harder to wait for.

Since we're just venting and having fun, I gotta say, I'm glad America is the focus for game releases. Wake up, have my coffee, do a bit of work and then start downloading the game. Don't screw this up please Unfortunately afaik if a game is marked as Early Access, Steam themselves does not allow pre-loading for launch. It's not up to Larian at all.

I get the frustration, but as always, it's all about the money. Steam doesn't want to pay its techs and tech support overtime, so everyone else gets to live on their schedule. Welcome to kapitalism komrade, it can be a real bitch sometimes.

Another disappointment after taking away our 3 day early access. As usual those on European and African time zones gets screwed. Awesome...
Too much to ask for a midnight release locally like other games have done on steam...

Too much to ask for a midnight release locally like other games have done on steam... Mostly a size thing, I think. BG3's hype is kinda through the roof, you can see it on their sale charts and where BG3 is ranked. If Steam has concerns a game might actually take their servers down, it's understandable they'd want as many hands on deck as possible--which means a US time launch.

This comes off as incredibly entitled.
No matter WHEN they choose to release, it would be really late or really early for someone. This is unavoidable and a result of them choosing to have a global release time, which is STILL vastly preferable to a staggered release where some people have to watch and risk spoilers while they can't even play the game yet.
Also, your tacit xenophobia doesn't make you cool or hipster, it just makes you come off as a dick. I never intended to come off cool or like a hipster, don't worry. What makes me angry is that once again and by far not the first or the second time ever, european players can play later, even though the game was developed by Europeans in Europe, just because one monopolist company based in the US told them so. I might be xenophobic in this regard, even though I usually am not. I'm very pissed and unreasonable in those cases, yes. I don't have a problem with any american citizen specifically, except maybe Gaben. I just hate that other countries or even whole continents don't seem to exist or at least have any real value when it comes to America. Be it politically (let's not go into detail here for both our peace of mind) or even in such small sectors as entertainment. Look at it this way: What would americans say when a BIG Hollywood movie, created by american citizens and nearly 100% in America, would be released earlier in other countries? Think they'd be happy? Edit: By the way, despite me being pissed and you thinking of me add a dick, I have, so far, no issue with you on a personal level. I know my behavior isn't the best currently. But I can be nice after the 5th of August or something. Until then? I'm done being happy and nice, sorry. Not a pleasant person to be around until then. This is a Dungeons and Dragons video game, which is an American IP. An American company licensed the rights for Larian to make this game, which was being bid on by multiple developers. Just saying. Regardless, I'm not happy about the news either. The release time is weird and kind of sucks for most people around the globe. Why not just make the game available at midnight EST? Also, why not just release it with the 72 hour early release? Swen confirmed in his interview today that the game is done. Not sure why they wouldn't just uphold the 72 hour thing if they didn't need the extra time anyway.

Isn't the release time dependent upon the Steam, WotC and Larian triangle, with Larian having the least say on the matter?
